The Department of Antiquities at the Ashmolean Museum holds a rich resource of manuscript and other archival material relating to British archaeology. This includes early records relating to the history of the museum and its collections, excavation archives, and the research papers of some British archaeologists. Archives relating to British numismatics are held by the Heberden Coin Room.
Please note that most of the administrative records of the museum are held by the Oxford University Archives. Click here for a catalogue of these records.
