Roman statuette of HerculesA marble statuette of Hercules (or Herakles in Greek) with his club, bow and arrows, together with a newly-slaughtered boar. Dating from the second century AD, this is a Roman copy of a Greek bronze original of the fifth century BC, perhaps by the renowned sculptor Myron.

Acquired in 1928.
