Gilt-brass and enamel cased verge watch with alarm

Case: Gilt-brass cage-work case with turquoise and white enamelled foliage. Nearly all the turquoise around the bezel and around part of the case band has been replaced with a green paste. The pendant ring is not original. Dial: Gilt-brass dial-plate engraved with realistic flowers around an applied silver chapter-ring with hours I-XII and half-hour marks only. In the centre a gilt-brass alarm-setting disc is numbered 1-11 and has a pointer at 12 to show the hour. There is a central blued-steel alarm-setting hand over a pierced and engraved foliate centre. Movement: Circular gilt-brass plates with four solid Egyptian pillars. Mainspring barrel with tangent-screw set-up, the barrel with steel cap and base; fusee with gut-line and standard stop-work; three wheel going train; verge escapement; balance cock pinned to a stud on the back plate. The alarm train is powered by a fixed gilt-brass barrel with engraved decoration on the visible side. The geared stop-work for the alarm train is not original.
