JOSEPHUS DISNEY ex Æde Christi Commensalis, venerandæ Antiquitatis amantissimus, Typum Arcis, Pontefractensis Anno 1648, quo eam obsidione premebant Perduelles, delineatum, in hoc Museo conservandum D.
Translation:
Joseph Disney, Commoner of Christ Church and a devoted antiquary, gave the museum a drawing of Pontefract Castle from the time when it was under enemy siege in 1648.
