Black chalk, partly reinforced with pen and black ink, with green, yellow, blue, brown, and black watercolour, within a margin line in graphite on the upper, lower, and right edges, on medium weight white wove paper.  Sheet: 406 x 476 mm

Inscribed in graphite at centre of lower margin: Ed. Manet Verso: instructions to the mounter. Labels from former backing board: a printed label for Pottier, an art packer of 14 and 9 rue Gaillon, Paris, dating from the Exposition Centennal 1900; a label
