Russian Art at the Ashmolean Museum

Visit our Modern Art Gallery this autumn to see a stunning selection of Russian artworks in the Gallery's slide-out drawers. The Ashmolean is home to an important collection of Russian art that, for conservation reasons, cannot be displayed permanently.

William Blake: Apprentice and Master

A major exhibition on the work of William Blake (1757–1827), printmaker, painter and revolutionary poet of the prophetic books. The exhibition also explores how Blake looked back to the master artist-printmakers at the beginnings of the Renaissance, and how he inspired and guided the young artist-printmakers who gathered around him in the last years of his life, Samuel Palmer, George Richmond and Edward Calvert.

Hiroshige's Japan: Fifty-three Stations of the Tōkaidō Road

Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858) was one of the great masters of the Japanese landscape print and his most famous series was the Fifty-three Stages of the Tōkaidō Road, first published in 1833.
