The Ashmolean is a great venue for a family day out and runs a lively programme of events and activities for children, young people and their families. There is a range of gallery trails on offer for children of all ages and these are available to all Museum visitors. Explore, discover, create, play, enjoy!

Big draw

The Ashmolean's family programmes are designed to encourage adults and children to learn more about the collections and exhibitions by working together in a fun and engaging way. Most activities are free and drop-in, but children should be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Girl drawing

During school holidays, and for occasional weekends throughout the year, drop-in gallery and family events take place and bookable art and craft workshops are often on offer.
