On the last Friday of each month, the Museum will open its doors from 7.00 – 10.30 pm, giving visitors the opportunity to see the collections and major exhibitions after hours. Interactive events including theatrical performances, creative workshops and lively talks will be on offer, with drinks and tapas in the rooftop Dining Room on Level 4 and a bar in the vaulted Café on the Lower Ground Level.

The award-winning Wilderness Festival will be stepping out of the wilds to create an enchanting evening of musical performances, theatrical spectacles, literary symposiums, workshops, magic and games at the Ashmolean. Wilderness will programme activities drawing from ancient arts inspired by nature and a love of adventure central to their ethos. Immerse yourself in the barefoot freedom of Wilderness in the heart of Oxford and enjoy an unforgettable journey through the arts in the Ashmolean, one of the oldest museums in the world. Come Draw With Me

Make your mark at the Ashmolean. Rediscover drawing with traditional and contemporary technologies in this celebration of mark-making through time in association with the Campaign for Drawing. Examining the diversity of drawing through participatory workshops, projections, live mural-making, and physical mark-making through dance this LiveFriday will look at drawing as a tool for creativity with which to explore concepts and tell stories. The Ashmolean has one of the world’s most important collections of drawings, and Come Draw with Me coincides with the Ashmolean’s Master Drawings exhibition.

Focussing on analogue photography, The Ashmolean entices you to join the LomoCaterpillar a continuous photochain, strike a pose in a gallery and try out some innovative analogue techniques. From sun prints to SLRs, Lomos to Polaroids, share the fascination of old school colour and composition in an unmissable evening of creative photographic fun.
