Mallett Gallery
Located on the first floor is the recently refurbished Mallett Gallery. This stunning space is ideal for a drinks reception, and is also licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 80 guests. With red silk damask walls, glistening chandeliers and Old Master paintings by Poussin and Lorrain amongst others, this magnificent space emulates an Italian seventeenth-century palazzo interior.
Ashmolean’s drinks and canapés suggestions
To access, guests are guided up the grand staircase though the Founders Gallery and the Renaissance Painting Gallery. During a drinks reception additional galleries can remain open for guests to enjoy the maiolica, silver and ceramic collections.
The Treasures exhibition, open until December 2008, is also available on request for private tours. Find out more about the Ashmolean’s Treasures
Venue hire rates
- Drinks reception: £1,000
- Civil ceremony: £1,500
- Drinks reception in the Mallett Gallery followed by dinner in the Randolph Sculpture Gallery: £1,750
Availability
The Gallery is available for hire outside Museum opening hours.
The guests’ arrival time is dependent upon the set up required.
