Ashmolean Transformed

Founded in 1683, the Ashmolean is Britain’s first public museum and home to the University of Oxford’s world-class collections of art and archaeology.

Improving the way that these outstanding collections are enjoyed by the public and looked after for future generations is a priority for the Museum, and the driving force behind the exciting and transformative projects that shape and strengthen the Ashmolean for the future.

The vision for a new Ashmolean became a reality in November 2009
