20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART
FIGURATIVE OR ABSTRACT
With Alice Foster, Art Historian
A 3-week course looking at the important changes in British 20th Century Art
Victorian realism in subject matter was shattered when Roger Fry brought Post Impressionism to Britain in 1910 and 1912. Cezanne, Van Gogh and Gauguin opened a world where colour and form took precedence over narrative. Alice Foster charts the important changes in British art in the light of European influences.
