BLACK & WHITE JAPANESE WOODBLOCK WORKSHOP

With Ralph Kigell, artist and printmaker

Takes place in the Learning Studio

In-Person Live Event – Join us at the Museum

Join artist Ralph Kigell for this one-day workshop introducing water-based woodblock printing, a traditional Japanese technique that doesn’t need a press.

Learn about the beautiful paper, wood and tools used for this method, as well as how to transfer your image to a woodblock, how to cut it out using various knives and gouges, register it and print it on previously dampened paper.

Making Japanese woodblock prints - here a scene of flowers is being made in black and white

This workshop is great for both beginners and those who have some knowledge of this technique.
