Themes such as ‘Love’ or ‘Hate’ have certain motifs or means of expression that are immediately recognisable.

Portraiture often conveys artists’ attitudes towards their sitters. To portray friendship is less evident.

This talk presents works by artists of their close friends and includes anecdotes about their friendships.
