You can opt in to receive the Ashmolean Museum's regular email newsletter in various ways: via an online form; when entering competitions; when booking tickets for an Ashmolean event or exhibition; when becoming a Member or Patron; when making a donation; when connecting to our free on-site wi-fi provided by WifiSpark; or by completing a paper 'Keep in Touch' form at the Museum. Subscribers receive regular Ashmolean news, offers, exhibitions announcements, appeals, surveys and upcoming event information by email. The contact data provided when signing up is retained for Ashmolean Museum use only.
You can unsubscribe from email newsletters at any time by clicking on the link that appears at the bottom of every newsletter.
Newsletter contact names and email addresses are stored by the Museum's Public Engagement Team on secure servers and shared only with MailChimp which is use to manage the Museum's database and to send regular email communications. Mailchimp complies with both the EU/US Privacy Shield Framework and Swiss Safe Harbor Framework. When competitions are run using Woobox your contact details will also be held by Woobox for the duration of the competition. Woobox LLC complies with the EU-US Privacy Shield Framework.
If you enter a competition and agree to be sent third-party information, for example by a competition sponsor or partner, then your contact details will be sent to the relevant organisation(s). If you enter a comptition but do not opt in to receive email communications, from the Ashmolean or third-parties, then your contact details will not be added to any database but may be retained for the purpose of selecting competition winners.
