The Ashmolean Education Department is committed to meeting the needs of all visitors. Please talk to us about any special requirements your group has when you book. We will do our best to accommodate these.
Special educational needs
All our museum-based activities can be adapted for children and students with special educational needs. We are pleased to welcome special school groups and to support pupils with special needs who are integrated into mainstream schools.
Sessions for hearing impaired visitors
We offer BSL interpreted gallery talks covering an enormous scope of subjects. These sessions are advertised in our Whatís On programme. Gallery talks and workshops can also be designed specifically for the needs of groups.
Sessions for visually impaired visitors
We run regular touch tours and object handling sessions for visitors with visual impairments. These sessions are advertised in our Whatís On programme. Gallery talks and workshops can also be designed specifically for the needs of groups.
If your group canít come to the Museum we may be able to come to you. From sessions for special schools to object handling and talks for community groups, there are many ways that we can work with you. For more information, please refer to our printed programmes. These can be downloaded from the relevant audience page/s.
