Exhibitions: Xu Bing: Landscape Landscript

The Ashmolean's 2013 exhibition programme opens with the Museum's first major exhibition of contemporary art. Xu Bing has become one of China's best known and critically acclaimed artists, exhibiting in solo exhibitions and winning awards around the world. Landscape Landscript will be the first exhibition devoted to his landscapes.

"The Ashmolean is one of the world’s leading centres for the study of Chinese art – with collections dating from the Neolithic period right up to the present. We are therefore thrilled to present the work of one of China’s most exciting and innovative artists working today to a wide UK audience." Meet Xu Bing

For the first time, the Ashmolean is using to-mobile internet to bring the artist’s voice into an exhibition. On your own smartphone or tablet you’ll be able to see behind-the-scenes images, find out more, and hear interviews with Xu Bing as you tour the galleries.
