The design is taken from an engraving by Jan Saenredam (1565-1607) after a painting by Abraham Bloemaert (1564-1651) (Bartsch III, p. 225, no. 14) [see illustration]. The same design is to be found on an unsigned plaque in the Victoria and Albert Museum, attributed to Campani, and another in Siena.
