A portrait of the manufacturer and philanthropist, William R. Morris (1877 - 1963), wearing the red gown and the flat cap of a doctor of civil law. There is another painting of the same sitter by de L´szló in St Peter's College, Oxford. The stretcher brace is inscribed: 'painted / during / four hours / P.A.de L. / offered to the / Ashmolean/Oxford'.
