With artist John Somerscales

Inspired by the paintings of JMW Turner, watercolourist John Somerscales will examine techniques with the brush to create movement, atmosphere, light and texture.

This workshop will include mark-making with the brush to suggest movement, how to create clouds with one brush stroke, the use of body colour with brush and sponges to overlay washes and using the dry brush technique to create highlights.

The event will include demonstrations from the artist as well as practical help and advice with your painting technique.

All materials will be provided.
