An exclusive visit for Members of the Ashmolean
Booking is essential. Tickets below
This is a repeat of last year's event due to popular demand.
Explore the art and history of bellringing with the Oxford Society of Change Ringers inside Christopher Wren's Tom Tower at Christ Church College, where the famed Great Tom bell has, for the last three hundred years, provided the background noise to life in Oxford.
A talk on the history of the bells and bellringing will be followed by a discussion on the art of change rinign and the methods used, and a demonstration on the middle six bells. There will also be an opportunity for some members to remain and observe the ringers at their weekly practice.
