FREE FAMILY HALF-TERM WORKSHOPS

FREE drop-in weekend arts event in the Lower Ground Floor Atrium

Suitable for all ages and abilities

With Museum staff on hand to guide you

Create your own textured object using materials that feel interesting under your fingertips: rough, smooth, soft, bumpy, or shiny. Design it as a fan, a little book, a box, or something completely unique.

Once it’s ready, take your textured creation on an adventure around the Museum. As you look at objects and artworks, search for connections between what you see and the textures you feel and learn about.

The Museum is full of objects made from many different materials, but we can’t touch them to keep them safe. Your textured object will help you imagine what they might feel like, encouraging you to look more closely and discover the Museum in a new way.
