Please note that owing to the historical nature of the building, the Western Art Print Room is only accessible by stairs.

The works on paper collection of the Ashmolean's Western Art department is rich in images of 'goddesses', from representations of Venus, to Muses and Sibyls, female saints and the Virgin Mary, as well as portraits of real women who have inspired artists and poets across the ages.

In anticipation of the Museum's Aphrodite exhibition, come and see a one-day display of works - prints, drawings and watercolours - exploring the theme of the 'Goddess'.
