With author & embroidery expert Tanya Bentham

The margins of medieval manuscripts are teeming with creatures, sometimes cute, sometimes creepy or weird, and sometimes downright rude!

This series of practical day sessions will mine the rich seam of imagery found in medieval manuscript marginalia. With Tanya's help you will be guided on medieval embroidery techniques (either laid and couched work/Bayeux stitch, or opus anglicanum, depending on ability) to create your chosen creature or figures and stitch your newest masterpiece.
