With Dr Steve Kershaw, classicist

In this exclusive talk for Members, classicist Steve Kershaw will examine the myths and depictions of Aphrodite that flourished in Ancient Greece and later the Roman world, where she was reincarnated as Venus.

Discussing some of the rarely loaned objects on display in Aphrodite: The Making of a Goddess exhibition, Steve will explore how representations of the goddess have metamorphosed since antiquity, through to the Renaissance and beyond.

Step into the world of Aphrodite with us and discover how the goddess became an enduring figure in art history and continues to shape our ideas of love and beauty.
