With Chen Chen, co-curator of our Cheung Yee exhibition

In this one-day workshop you'll learn the techniques involved in paper making and paper casting, and engage directly with objects in the Museum’s collection.

The day will incorporate an hour-long session in one of our study rooms, where we will look at objects that are currently on display in the free exhibition Cheung Yee and His 1960s Hong Kong Contemporaries (open until September 2025), alongside other examples of art in the collection which use paper not simply as a surface but as a medium for art-making.

Participants will then make their own paper, which they will dry over three-dimensional moulds to create reliefs on the paper’s surface.
