With Asma Hashmi, print artist
Using relief, stamp, and monoprint techniques, participants will create a series of prints inspired by the Museum’s botanical collections and plant histories.
Design and carve simple plant-inspired motifs, and print onto small tags and labels, resembling 1600s apothecary talismans.
Produce botanical stamps layered into decorative prints, echoing the fascination with exotic plants and cultivated gardens.
Create plant motifs such as tea, sugar, cotton, and orchids using mono printing techniques, then incorporate natural textures (leaves, grasses, flowers).
Your finished result will be a set of richly layered monoprints.
