One of Scotland's most popular artists, Joan Eardley enhanced three-dimensional forms in the landscapes, not by depicting them traditionally, but by thickening the oil paint to make the painting surface three dimensional itself.
Abstract landscape in oils by Kieran Stiles, inspired by Joan Eardley
Once these textures have been applied, free flowing washes of diluted oil washes can be poured on top.
Participants will have the chance to learn from Kieran Stiles and produce their own textural landscapes inspired by Joan Eardley.
All materials will be provided.
This event is part of our Connect & Collaborate season of events.
