Due to gallery closures we will not be taking bookings for Rome school sessions and Rome self-guided visits from September 2024 to September 2025.

The Cast Gallery will also be affected during this period and our Ancient Greece sessions will be adapted to include different content when this gallery is also unavailable.

SESSION OUTLINE

In this session students will explore everyday life in Ancient Rome using primary evidence.

Students will search for objects covering themes which explore key aspects of Roman life: cooking, eating and drinking, trade across the Roman Empire, building materials, religion and the spread of the Empire.

Activities will include gallery searches, discussion and object-handling.

Sessions can be tailored in discussion with the teacher to meet the needs of students.

INSET and teacher training can also be arranged.
